From KFSN-TV in Fresno, a teenage girl from Armona, California has been charged with assault after using a knife against a fellow student at her school.
The reason the girl, aged 13, stabbed the other student, a male also aged 13, was over a bag of potato chips he allegedly stole from her lunch.

According to the suspect, she allegedly told officials she only intended to 'poke' the boy who stole part of her lunch.
An assistant to the sheriff's department, Dave Putnam, was sent to the school to investigate.
From other authorities there were also 'inconsistencies' with her story.
Meanwhile parents of other Parkview Middle School students were upset that they were left in the dark about the incident.

Steve Bogan, superintendent, expressed absolute shock that this event even happened, the first time in his fourteen years on the job.
'We've never had an incident like this.'
According to the suspect the knife was not hers, and she was 'holding it' for another student.
