Chile: Violent clashes break out between students and police at demo
A march by 150,000 of students in Santiago Thursday, ended in violent clashes with the police.
The protest, organised by The Student Federation of Chile, drew university students, secondary school teachers, parents and workers from health and mining unions. Towards the end of the protest several students used sticks and stones to fight with the police. This is the first official protest called by the Federation who's main goal is to bring forward the demands of students for a better education. They aim to highlight the issue in the run up to the presidential elections later this year.
