Freshmen enrolled in Chemistry 131 were told by 'Professor' Hafensteiner that most of the class would fail.
However, the man at the front of the classroom wasn't Professor Ben Hafensteiner, but a member of the university's radio comedy group, The Chamber Boys.

No electronics: Several students fearing their grades will be affected put away their laptops at the request of the professor
Patrick Adelman duped the class by telling his new students: 'This class is extremely hard. Last year, 55% of this class failed.'
Having got their attention by providing them with the stats, the fake prof is in control.
He managed to persuade the students to turn off their laptops and cell phones, even threatening them with 'repercussions' on their grades if he caught them with the gadgets during the semester.
The freshmen dutifully begin to close their laptops and switch off their phones as the professional-looking prof tells them the items are banned during lectures in order to stop them playing games or looking at Facebook.

Clueless: None of the students had idea any the real Dr H was not taking their freshman chemistry class
The game is up: Professor Hafensteiner gets to his classroom to find the lecture already in progress. 'Who the hell are you?' he demanded...Just as the phoney professor is getting into the swing of things, the real Dr. Hafensteiner walks into the room, demanding to know who the imposter is.
'Who the hell are you?' he bellows. 'Who are you?'
The students see the funny side almost immediately and break into laughter as the realization hits.
Professor Hafensteiner was recently named Professor of the Year in the Natural Sciences.
'Well, he managed to get the hairline right!', joked the Professor as he began his class and saw the funny side of what happened..
