A teacher was fired yesterday after she allegedly gave alcohol and condoms to students.
A Florida administrative law judge suspended Isabel Diaz-Almaraz without pay in September 2012 and she was officially fired on Wednesday.
An Instagram picture of an assortment of alcohol, condoms and boxes of jello with the caption 'Thank you Ms D' underneath it was one of the key pieces of evidence.
Her attorney asserted her actions were 'not a career-ending mistake'.
The Miami-Dade County Public Schools Civilian Investigative Unit report says Diaz-Almaraz participated in a 'multitude of grossly inappropriate conduct' and violated school policies while she was a fine arts dance teacher at South Miami Senior High School.
The investigation began in July 2012 when a parent reported a photo Diaz-Almaraz posted on her Facebook account showing herself posing with students while holding small bottles of alcohol.
The report says the teacher also rented a post-prom hotel room which cost $1,000, for students and allowed them to skip classes by staying in her office.
She took half a sick-day on the Friday before prom to help the students get the suite ready. She returned the next day with her husband to cook steaks in the oven and spend time with the teens.
According to Administrative Judge F. Scott Boyd, she helped one student prepare a 'gift display with rose petals and mints for his girlfriend', and left the students gifts like sunscreen, mouthwash, toothpaste, freeze pops and Gatorade.

Diaz-Almaraz said she only rented the hotel because it had to be done on PayPal, and the students didn’t have an account. They gave her the money back later she said.
Students interviewed said they brought their own liquor and never saw the teacher drink. The school board believes the teacher's husband even spent time in the room, cooking for the group, NBC Miami reports.

In the 46-page document, the school board said: 'Ms Diaz-Almaraz’s interactions with her students reflect a deep immaturity and craving for their approval.'
At least one parent wrote a letter to the school board after the investigation, calling it a 'witch hunt'.
'I do not believe at anytime Ms D endangered my daughter,' Marci Sigel said in the letter, adding that the teacher was a positive influence in the student's life, NBC reports.
